American Cancer Society Speech

Last summer I was the speaker at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event in Monroe, Washington.

It went well & was contacted to speak again at the ACS Paws for a Cause event. I almost didn’t do it because of my chronic pain & my layoff from the job. The night before I rallied & asked if they still wanted me. They did & when I got up to tell the story of my diagnosis I started crying. Then the audience started crying. I got a few jokes in about hair loss and ended with a plea to fix our healthcare system so I don’t need to feel that I was issued a death sentence.
